Right now, at Restaurant.com, they are running a promotion called “Feed It Forward”. Basically, if you go to http://feeditforward.restaurant.com/ you can send as many as 30 friends each day a $10 gift certificate that can be used with a minimum purchase at many area restaurants. Note that you cannot send a gift certificate to the same person on multiple days, and I really don’t know if you can send yourself a gift certificate, but beyond the minimum purchase at the restaurant, there isn’t much of a down side to this deal! Send a friend a gift certificate, and ask them to send you one!

Kim Komando had a cool site of the day on Saturday, November 14th that suggested http://www.clicker.com. Basically, this is a website that you type in the name of a TV show, and it finds out where on the web the episodes available are. Just click on one, and you get linked to the LEGAL sites on the web where the episode is available. Pretty cool!

I should have mentioned some of the free 411 Directory Serice providers also, but forgot. You can get directory assistance via 1-800-GOOG-411 and 1-800-FREE-411.

Google runs the 1-800-GOOG-411 service, and they will connect your call to the business for free, however this service does not include residential listings yet.

1-800-FREE-411 is free for both business as well as residential listings. But, you may hear an advertisement before you get the directory assistance information you have requested.

One additional note about rebate sites, especially as they relate to shopping at ebay.

When making your bid, start on the rebate site, then click on the link for ebay.

If the auction ends more than 7 days from the time you make you bid, you will need to start again on the rebate site, and click over to ebay, and view the item you are bidding on (the reason is because ebay only remembers the referrer for 7 days appearantly)

When paying for your item, again start on the rebate site, and click over to ebay. Then click on the pay field, and complete the transaction with paypal. Otherwise, I don’t think you will always get paid.

Yes, cumbersome, but a little money saved is just that!

The “saving psyche” is not just a good thing, it is a great thing! Everyone should have a 6 to 9 month emergency fund, and maybe even more in today’s tough times. So, save your money! If you have loans, try to get the lowest interest rates you can. Try to avoid fees for banking. Get higher rates for savings. Credit unions are good ways to do all of these!

If you don’t “need” the item, strongly consider putting off buying. If you really need to buy something, find the best price, search for internet coupons, and see about cash back offers or other rebates through various online sites.
