Grow Your Green Campaign—Blog Savings Challenge Rules

  1. No purchase necessary. Non-payment entries and payment entries have an equal chance of winning.
  2. Limited time offer, can be modified or eliminated at the credit union’s discretion.
  3. The Great Savings Challenge begins March 18, 2009 and will end November 30, 2009.
  4. Entry into monthly $100 drawing: An eligible Technology Credit Union member automatically receives an entry based on the following: One (1) entry monthly when a deposit of $25 or more is made into a Challenge Savings account, shows an increase in monthly average balance at month-end, and has registered as a member on www.GrowYourGreenCampaign.com. Automatic entries will be recorded by Technology Credit Union once the average balance is calculated during month-end processing. Qualifying deposits/balances must be received and posted by Technology Credit Union by midnight Pacific Standard Time on the day of each month-end. Automatic entries are only eligible to win during the drawing period covered.
  5. To enter without purchase, payment or obligation: Once a month, you can hand-print your name, address, city, state, zip, day and evening phone numbers, and the words “Grow Your Green” on a 3″ x 5″ card, and mail in a stamped #10 envelope to: Grow Your Green Campaign–The Great Savings Challenge, 2010 N. First Street, Ste. 210, San Jose, CA 95131. Only one entry per postmarked envelope per month will be accepted. No mechanical reproductions permitted. If a handwritten entry is declared a monthly winner, but the judges are unable to determine the winner due to illegible writing, that entry will be disqualified. Entries become the property of Tech CU and will not be returned. All handwritten entries must be received by 5:00 pm Pacific Standard Time on the last business day of each month.
  6. All entries (whether automatic or handwritten) become property of Technology Credit Union and will not be returned. Entrants must be a Technology Credit Union member in good standing at the time of the drawing to be prize eligible.
  7. In order to claim the Grow Your Green monthly and grand prizes, which will be deposited into the winner’s Grow Your Green savings account, upon selection, the individual whose name is drawn must agree to participate in various Grow Your Green marketing activities. This includes, but is not limited to, agreement to allow the individual’s name, photograph and a brief interview (which can be conducted via telephone or e-mail) be published on www.GrowYourGreenCampaign.com, as well as other Technology Credit Union marketing materials deemed appropriate by the credit union. No private or account information will be published.
  8. There will be eight (8) monthly drawings for a $100 prize: March 18 through April 30, May 1 through May 31, June 1 through June 30, July 1 through July 31, August 1 through August 31, September 1 through September 30, October 1 through October 31, and November 1 through November 30. There will be eight (8) monthly drawings held on the second business day of the month following each monthly drawing period. After each monthly drawing all entries will be disposed of for purposes of the following monthly drawing, and entry qualifications will be based on the Challenge Savings Account’s current standing. The time of each drawing will be determined at Technology Credit Union’s sole discretion. Non-winning entries received during each drawing period will not be eligible for any subsequent Growing Your Green monthly drawings. In each drawing, the winner(s) will be randomly selected from eligible entries.
  9. Winners will be chosen randomly and notified within two weeks at the end of each promotional period. May 15, 2009; June 15, 2009; July 15, 2009, August 15, 2009, September 15, 2009; October 15, 2009; November 15, 2009; and December 15, 2009. To claim the prize, members must respond to the notification from Technology Credit Union within five days. After that time, the member forfeits the prize and a new member will be selected and notified. The winner from each promotional period will be officially announced within one week of response from member to claim the prize.
  10. All drawings will be conducted under the supervision of Technology Credit Union. Posts for saving goals must be deemed appropriate by Technology Credit Union. Any inappropriate posts will be removed from the site. The decisions of Technology Credit Union are final and binding in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes.
  11. Technology Credit Union Super Saver Contest. From December 1, 2009 to December 11, 2009 members of the Grow Your Green blog community will nominate other members to be considered to be the Super Saver. No self nominations will be accepted. Nominating will be conducted at www.growyourgreencampaign.com and will use an online ballot system. Nominators will be limited to one nomination. Any abuse of the Nominating system in an effort to create an unfair advantage for any finalist is strictly prohibited. Technology Credit Union reserves the right to immediately disqualify any nominations based on evidence of nominating abuse.
  12. On December 18, 2009 the Super Saver winner will be selected by the Super Saver committee based on a combination of their participation on the blog site, meeting their savings goal, and amount of money saved. Maximum one Finalist per household.
  13. All prizes will be awarded.
  14. Eight (8) $100 monthly prizes and one (1) $1,000 Super Saver grand prize. Prize money will be deposited into winners Challenge Savings Account.
  15. Employees, officers, and volunteer officials of Technology Credit Union and their family members on joint accounts are not eligible to win.
  16. Taxes on prizes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner. Winners may be issued an IRS 1099 tax form for the approximate retail value of any awarded prize.
  17. Technology Credit Union is not responsible for any claim, injury, loss, or damage to any person or property that arises out of acceptance or use of any prize.
  18. Void where prohibited.
  19. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
  20. Except where prohibited by law, the winner’s acceptance of the prize constitutes the winner’s permission for the Sweepstakes Entities and those acting under their authority to use said winner’s name, photograph, likeness, statements, biographical information, voice, and address (city and state only) on a worldwide basis, and in all forms of media, in perpetuity, for advertising or promotional purposes without review or further compensation.
  21. Contest open to Technology Credit Union members who are California residents age 18 and over. Minors are eligible to participate in blog activity and Challenge Savings account, but if chosen as a winner a legal guardian must accept the winnings.
  22. This Sweepstakes shall be governed by California law. By accepting the prize associated with this sweepstakes, winners agree that California courts shall have jurisdiction over any dispute or litigation arising from or relating to this Sweepstakes and that venue shall be only be within one of Tech CU’s community-chartered counties: Santa Clara, San Mateo, San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, or Santa Cruz.
