Saving for a Hunting Dog

I’m saving to buy a new hunting dog.  My current hunting dog is getting too old to be in the field all day.

    How much do hunting dogs go for these days and what type of breed are you looking for? Have you set a timeline as to when you want to buy your dog?

    I really haven’t looked at “real” hunting dogs for a long time so I’ll have to start doing some online research. Breeds might include the Golden Retreiver and Labs but there are other breeds that are now being used I’ve heard. Will probably take at least a year to save enough and I have to consider the cost of actually training the dog. First basic obedience training and then special training to do field work.
